Uvac Reserve

Uvac is a special reserve and protected natural wealth of the Republic of Serbia. If you are a fan of nature trips, this is the perfect place for you. Unrealistically carved meanders, the largest cave complex in Serbia, 3 lakes, a habitat for a rare species of vultures and untouched nature. This masterpiece of nature is among the first mentioned when it comes to tourism in Serbia. Uvac is on the front pages of domestic catalogs and locations of tourist organizations, but also of foreign, world famous. The Uvac Special Nature Reserve covers an area of ​​7543 hectares. It is located in the southwestern part of Serbia within Starovlashka – Raska Vision. It is located between the mountains Zlatar, Muternica, Chemernica, Jadovic and Javor and covers 2/3 of the area of ​​the municipality of Nova Varos and 1/3 of the area of ​​the municipality of Sjenica. Other nearby towns are Prijepolje, Novi Pazar, Ivanjica and the mountains Zlatibor and Golija лниот The Uvac Special Nature Reserve is a whole which of course consists of nature, a system of caves, lakes and canyons on the river Uvac. Only part of the gorge was protected in 1971, and then in 2006 the entire reserve area fell under state protection.

Uvac is a river that springs at the foot of Mount Jadovi. And is the largest tributary of the river Lim. This river creates a canyon valley by cutting the mountains Zlatibor and Zlatar, which together with the valleys of the tributaries makes the whole reserve. The canyon meanders have a special beauty, which in places make an angle of up to 270 degrees, and the peaks reach a relative height of up to 100 meters. Within the reserve, on the canyon Uvac, and with partial immersion of the valley Uvac, as many as 3 lakes: Uvacko (Sjenichko), Zlatarsko and Radoinj, and their length is. 25, 23 and 11 km. The canyon has 12 beautiful viewpoints, the most famous of which are Ravi Krash, Veliki Vrh and Molitva.

It can be said that right after the famous lookout Prayer, this lookout is followed by its popularity and the beauty of the landscape it gives. Molitva and Ledeni vidikovac are located opposite each other and both will provide you with beautiful panoramas and an unforgettable view of all the charms and beauties of Uvac. The advantage of this lookout is that you can reach it by boat, so tourist tours are often organized for that.

A beautifully arranged and marked pedestrian path exactly 7 km long will take you to the lookout Molitva. The viewfinder is available and the road leading to it is really not too hard, so we are sure that the children will master it successfully and easily. At the very top you will find a wooden platform so you can stop in the canyon and admire the canyon of the river Uvac.

Lookout Ravni Krsh

In the middle of the meanders is the lookout “Ravni krash”. It is reached by water from a narrow path through the forest that protects visitors from the sun. The climb takes 15 to 20 minutes and is not too strenuous compared to other lookouts. The gazebo has a spacious area for photographing and panoramic views of the beautiful meandering forms.
